this book is beautiful, great storyline. I think one thing I realized as I was considering pilgrimage from a personal viewpoint is this: it is easy for people to situate themselves into complex, but safe environments. His beatings were horrible and to make it out the other side shows his ability to overcome struggle. This deeply personal story is an inspiration for those of us who want to move past pain and hurt and return to peace and joy.
